What Is Dysport®?
Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) are prescription cosmetic injections used to temporarily reduce the underlying muscle activity under the skin’s surface to improve the look of moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles by making those lines look visibly smoother.
How Dysport® Works
Wrinkles may form due to common, repeated facial movements and muscle contractions as well as a combination of factors such as changes in cellular structure, loss of collagen, damage caused by the sun, and other environmental factors over time.
By temporarily blocking the signals that nerves send to muscles, Dysport® prevents muscles from contracting, allowing them to relax and no longer cause wrinkles.
Why Use Dysport®?
Dysport® is fast-acting with results typically appearing around two to three days following treatment and is much more diluted, spreading quickly and evenly, which makes it ideal to treat large surface areas like the forehead and glabellar lines (“Elevens”). Dysport® usually lasts between three to five months.
As a more affordable alternative to Botox® injections, Dysport® is an effective and non-invasive way to treat fine lines and wrinkles. In certain circumstances, Dysport® injections may be deeper than Botox® injections in order to help to cover wider areas of treatment. It’s molecular structure and way it diffuses allows it to be versatile and spread faster.
